1912年德国科学家阿尔弗雷德·韦格纳提出了一套理论，他认为地球上的大陆曾经全部连在一起。他将这块巨大的大陆称之为“泛大陆”。尽管1939的秋天战火纷飞，德国人还是决定派遣一支海洋考察队寻找韦格纳理论更多的证据支撑。这次驶往北极腹地斯瓦尔巴特群岛的探险由德国地质学家弗里德里克和他的助手莱妮率队。队伍中还有三名知名的科学家，两名英国人，古斯塔夫则来自瑞典；挪威籍船长率领着来自俄罗斯的船员。尽管队长对这次探险的成果雄心壮志，但因为不同国家而持有的不同政治立场渐渐开始影响考察工作。古斯塔夫和莱妮偏偏在希特勒入侵波兰的当晚宣布恋爱了，这无疑让旅程变得更加复杂。当英国和法国宣布对德国宣战时，这群平民科学家队伍深感自己已经卷入这场世界大战的漩涡中……

A documentary about the deconstruction of the Berlin Wall which makes no use of vocal mentary but instead focuses on visual elements. From the Potsdamer Platz to the Brandenburg Gate, the camera captures the historic events from all sides and different angles: on the one hand there are news reporters and tourists from all over the world taking pictures, children selling pieces of the wall to passers-by, and people celebrating New Year's Eve, on the other we see abandoned subway stations and officials with blank looks on their faces.
